Art Residency | Eutopia
I'm delighted to have been awarded an Art Residency with Eutopia in Kavala Greece.
I'm looking forward to having the time and space to create a new body of work. Macedonia is a beautiful part of Greece which I'm really pleased to be returning to - in a former life as a writer I stayed for a year as a Visiting Professor at the University of Thessaloniki, when I also produced a solo exhibition for the British Council to celebrate their 50 years in Greece.

Passages of Transformation | Bermondsey Project Space
My next London solo, Passages of Transformation, runs from 25 October to 29 October at Bermondsey Project Space.
The exhibition brings together new work with some unseen paintings from the past 20 years. The work explores my ongoing interest in metamorphosis and the transformation of personal mythologies and narrative through multi-layered paintings and collage.
British Painting 3 | Bermondsey Project Space
I'm delighted to have Disappearance I included in British Painting 3, a curated exhibiton of independent artsts
who use paint as their primary medium. The exhibition runs from 7 to 18 June at Bermondsey Project Space.
Visions exhibition | Venice Biennale
If you are visiting the Venice Biennale this week please drop into the Anima Mundi - Visions exhibition at the Palazzo Bembo - Venice Grand Canal. Interface IV has been selected for display from 16th June to 6th July 2022.
The painting is from a series of smaller works on canvas which are based on the human figure but move into abstraction, blurring the lines between drawing and painting with the use of medium and expressive mark making.
Animation | ACME Studios
I was very pleased to see the animated version of Eustace and Makepeace - Their Final Encounter projected at ACME's Childers Street Studios as part of Day One of the London Borough of Culture events.
The painting was animated by the artist and animator Sian Bliss.
The Song of the Expelled Insects | The Poetry Society
I'm delighted to have my poem ‘The Song of the Expelled Insects’ published on the The Poetry Society’s Poems website.
The poem was a prizewinner in the National Poetry Competition. It is about loss, homelessness, change and renewal. I was going through a divorce at the time of writing, and thought I had lost everything, yet out of this developed an iconography of inner fable, geography and dream that has run through my work ever since - the owl is a flower, the goat is a flame - that everything is part of one metamorphic dance.
