Margins
This series emerged from the human figure when working in Cornwall. The shape of the model with outstretched arms transformed with the prehistoric stone structures that were all about into an elemental cruciform shape that underpinned the composition of the picture plane, often invoking a horizon line. The approach was developed further with variations in the exhibition Balkan Earth, commissioned by the British Council to celebrate their 50 years in Greece.
